I will be m.i.a.......surgery update....

Hi Bloggy Friends....

I will probably be gone for a few more days ... David had his surgery on Monday and was in the hospital for two days. There was wi-fi, but it was so slow that I did not use it:-) His surgery went well, but he has a lot of swelling and bruising. He still has a catheter until next week and that is driving him crazy. I can't say that he is the best patient in the world!

On top of all that, we had told out daughter that we would watch her dogs -- Boston Terriers -- before his surgery was ever scheduled. They came yesterday for 4 days. They only "love" me, so I am covered in dogs 24/7. Poor Ashley pretty much stays in my room under the bed :-( She is definitely curious about them, but gets her hackles up when they get too close. She has been staying close to David to help him heal :-)

I have not had a minute to work on anything, but hopefully he will be better after he sees the doctor next week to the catheter out and an "all clear" to be more active!!

I have a birthday next week and I plan to get another kitten from Animal Services to be a playmate for Ashley!! I can tell by the way she is with the dogs that she will be okay with a kitten :-) I would like to get another Russian Blue if they have one.

Be on watch --- I think I might have a give-away to celebrate my birthday! I will post it next week!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!!! and some projects......

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all my new Friends!!!

We will be going to our older son's house to celebrate our time with the family :-) Two of the three kids wanted us to have the day here at our house, but with DH's surgery on Monday, he was not up to so much work --- he is the chief cook in our family :-) We had minimum contribution and I actually did most of it!! So we will be part of a group of about 14 adults and 6 kids -- 2 of which are as big as the adults! And with all people bringing somethin, it is sure to be quite a FEAST!!

Three of us are "Border Buddies" -- we make 3 borders for each other every month. There is one other girl who does one a month and we make one for her. I did her 12 early in the year. The 2 others are my DIL and her mom. I got my November borders done this week so I could deliver them today. We never do anything in particular so here is what I got done with files I had already set up in my scal program:

This Birthday Fun border is done with the Clowning Around file from Treasure Box Designs using all papers and Stickles I have on hand. The font is one that I downloaded into scal. Usually, I make the paper pieces and then I pick out the papers I want to use for the background and edge. I lay the pieces on different papers until I like the look :-)

I think this border could be used for lots of pages. Think Sweet Thoughts file is from KaDoodle Bug Designs. All from my stash. It has extra pieces -- the frame girl and caupcake.

I am going to be using this border for a wedding page, since I had 3 weddings this year. Of course, it is perfect for Valentine's or an anniversary. These angels are in a file from Treasure Box Designs that is no longer available, but I believe they have been relocated into other new files. I think the font is another one I uploaded into scal.

Hope I have inspired you in some way:-) I am doing more pages instead of borders, but they are still a quick and easy page when they are sitting there all done! Just add a background page and then back the pictures if you want:-)

Busy, non-productive days....Ashley....

Happy Saturday Fellow Bloggers...

Do yo ever have times when you are so busy doing "nothing" that you don't accomplish anything? It seems like that is the mode I am operating in :-) Since the time change, I have been going to bed at the same time (late), but waking up very early. This puts me in a fog for the rest of the day. I did have several busy weekends and I did get most of my Christmas decorations up, but I have not been in the scrap cave more than a couple of times :-(

I got a few Thanksgiving cards made and sent out which was my big project for the week!

I used some Thanksgiving paper I had on hand, embossed the cardstock behind the turkey with a leaf embossing folder that I got as 'candy', the ribbon was also on a roll of 6 that I won at some point and it was perfect, the button and floss were in my stash. The awesome "Toasted Turkey" file is from Precious Piecings by Lisa He has always been a fav of mine and if you have never visited Lisa, you should!!

Today, I need to make borders I owe to my "Border buddies" for Nov. and Dec. I have 5 to make for 2 people, so that will keep me plenty busy:-) That is actually 5 for 3 people when I include myself:-(

I want to post a picture of my kitty, Ashley :-) She is getting better every day and is really the perfect cat :-) She will never wipe out the memory of Boo -- I still tear up a couple times a week -- but she is great. I never knew anything about Russian Blue cats, but she is the softest, silkiest thing I have ever touched except maybe a mink coat. She does not shed!!! And she is almost completely hypoallergenic! If you read about them, she has the personality that is described. Since she was a shelter cat, we have had to work on the trust issues. When we are able to pick her up and hold her, she is extremely gentle -- never any claws or teeth. She only uses the scratching post and never get on counter tops. She has started getting in our bed at night and in the morning, she waits patiently and quietly for us to get up. Her meows are usually 'silent'. She is full grown and weighs just under 8 pounds, but she is such a good eater, that may go up:-) Here is her pic -- I have been trying to get one for a Christmas card.

You can see that she was a little "ticked off" about the hat!!

Hope everyone has a very productive weekend!! I am certainly going to TRY:-) I want to do at least one Hop, but may not!!

And the winner is!.......

Hello Monday, Friends,
I know, I was supposed to announce the winner of the 6 Thank you Cards on Saturday night:-) But this was another one of those times when life interfered. We had 2 grandkids and 2 granddogs for the weekend. I had birthday parties to attend, cheer practice, you name it! But worst of all was the almost 6 year old insisting that I get out ALL of the Christmas decorations and put them up! Well, I was not at all in the mood for this, but I did what made him happy :-) We managed to put up the biggest family room tree -- this was his 3rd year helping with the decorating -- after he and I broke a few of the glass ornaments, I decided to not use them this year :-( So now I have a huge mess of decorations sitting all over the place and I an going to have to finish it up today -- YUK -- no scrapping for me. I will definitely be paring it down and putting some stuff back to the storage place:-) As you know, I am a huge moose lover and I probably have 100 that I can put out! Kitty, Ashley, was confined to the bedroom for the weekend because of the 2 dogs, so she was fascinated when she finally got out of her prison and saw the tree. She is being her usual 'good self' and not climbing it -- just likes to get under or behind it and sit:-)

Okay, now to the winna'!! I only had 5 people comment (actually more than I expected) and I had my DH pick a number between 1 and 5. He picked 5 and that is AUDREY! My sweet bloggy friend from Cute and Some! If you will email me at jejaeb@cfl.rr.com with your addy, I will put your cards in the mail. I wish I could send each of you something:-) Keep watch -- I am going to be doing other surprise giveaways:-) Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and enter!!

Challenge project and last chance to comment.....

Happy 11-11-11, Everyone!!

It kind of makes you feel like it is a lucky, or at least special, day :-) I am especially happy that is is on Veteran's Day!

Our new roof is on and looks sooo pretty and our pockets feel soooo much lighter -- tee hee:-)

I have been working on a layout for a challenge between visits from grand kids. I got it done this afternoon. It is a sketch challenge at Creative Cutter Room. It is open until November 16 and this is the awesome sketch to go by.

And even more fun is the "candy"! Chic and Scary Cricut Cartridge!

Here is my take on the layout:

All the papers I used were from My Mind's Eye Wonderful Winter Pack, as well as some red and white cardstock. My paper piecings were a file from Scrapping Bug Designs using scrap paper for all of it! It feels good to have these pages done ahead of time for those upcoming Christmas pictures:-)

A couple other things -- I said I was winning a lot of candy lately and I got the rest of it in the mail this week. I want to give proper credit to the generous people I received it from:-)

First is Elsa at Just A Few Designs who sent a wonderful grab bag of very useful things!!

Thank you so much, Elsa!!

Next is Jean at Jean's Crafty Corner who sent 2 absolutely wonderful Cuttlebug embossing folders!
Just wonderful, Jean! Thank you!!

Finally, is Alyssa from My Thoughts Exactly stamps

How awesome is this set??!! Thank you so much, Alyssa!! Please go and show some love to every one of these fine ladies!!

Since I have been so lucky, I do have a small giveaway in the blog below. So, if you go and leave a comment there, I am going to pick a winner this weekend -- probably tomorrow night:-)

Thank you cards and a surprise...

Happy Thursday, you all!!
I am having a very hard time hearing myself think this week --- we are having a new roof put on the house and, boy, is it noisy! Especially upstairs where my craft cave is located. They started on Monday and should be done today, but no later than tomorrow.

The last couple of days, I toughed it out and went up to make some thank you cards. I owe several to people and so I made too many:-)

I only used svg files -- no stamps. The paper is card stock I have on hand. Mostly textured. The "Thanks a Bunch" title was a freebie from Svg Cuts, the flowers are the Garden Splendor files from Scraptastical Kreations, the scalloped oval is the Lace Circle file from Little Scraps of Heaven that I made into an oval using SCAL. I had to remove the 'keep proportions' checkmark and size the center to fit the saying. Then I made the back scalloped oval by using the 'ungroup' command to make it solid and sizing it to fit. There is another flower accent on the inside and I left it blank so I can write the appropriate note. There is some chalking and shiny studs for the flower centers. The ribbon, I think, was in Michael's $1 bin. It did not really take that long, considering that I made 15 of them --- don't ask:-)

Now, for the surprise!! If you actually have read this far, you have the chance to win a set of 6 of these Thank You cards w/envelopes. All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me you would like to have them! I will pick a winner in a couple of days. Oh, it would be great if you could leave a way for me to reach you:-)

Now, I need to go see if there are any challenges this would work for! I think I saw one for Thank You Notes...
Have a great -- hopefully quiet -- day!

Tons of Candy and Boo Kitty...

Now that I have a Blog ... a kind of neglected one the last couple of weeks ... I can show off any Blog Hop candy that I am so fortunate to win:-) The last couple of weeks, the lucky "Random" bug has honored me with several wins. It is kind of funny how you seem to win in streaks ... either a whole lot or none at all. Well, I for one, am not complaining!! I started doing blog hops because they are such an awesome way to come across so many fun, useful ideas!! I never expected to win anything for doing them and I did not realize how many things I would bookmark for later:-) I really want to acknowledge the wonderful ladies who showered me with the totally awesome candy: First, I got two emails from Amy at Love to Crop telling me that I had won for the PurpleFuntastick Birthday Hop and Brenda's Birthday Wishes Hop. I sent her a note back to tell her that she had mistakenly sent me two notices --- she answered that I was picked for both!! Wow, that was a shocker for me and probably her, too:-) I got the candy for both this week and how much fun is all this!! She knew how much I love rosettes and included a fabulous one!!

See the great rosette and her awesome flowers? I can see a use for every bit of this bog candy! Thank you, Amy, so very much. You are a special person:-)

Then I won from Rhonda fromCrafting With Blue on the Halloween Blog Hop. I got her package this week, too. We found out that we do not live that far apart in Florida:-) She sent an awesome web stamp that will be so useful and I love it, as well as the wonderful candy corn ribbon! I used up the last of my Halloween ribbon this year so I am going to need it:-) Then check out the cute monster stickers -- I will have a head start on my pages for Halloween this year:-) Rhonda is another Sweetheart of a blogger!!

Mollie at Cricket's Cricut Creations had a blog candy giveaway on her blog just "because". I was checking out all the blogs I follow and saw her post so I left a comment thanking her for being so generous. Only 2 of us left comments so she went above and beyond what she needed to do and gave us both candy! How completely sweet was that? The variety of things in the grab bag was amazing -- just look at all the wonderful things!! Thank you so much, Mollie! You are so kind and thoughtful:-)

Last, but not least, is Claire at Scrapmyway who is also another Florida Girl! There must be a lot of us out there in Bloggy Land:-) I got her package with it's great assortment of jewels, stickers and stamps...so much fun!! I also had to include her 'Congrats' card in the picture because it is so cute:-) She is also a sweetheart of a blogger, so be sure to give her a visit:-) Thanks again, Claire!

I feel so Blessed to have won all this awesome candy form these beautiful women and I am truly thankful for each and every thing.

Now I have to do something that is going to bring on more tears :-( Two weeks ago, we lost our baby Boo Kitty. It was not expected and a huge shock. Both my husband and I, and our younger son, were completely devastated and in shock. We loved that little critter with all our heart and he was such a joy in our lives for such a short time and I will never be able to forget:-(. I waited about a week and a half and then I adopted a 7 month old Russian Blue female from the Animal Control. They called her Ash, but I have renamed her Princess Ashley Blue Ghost. She is silky soft and beautiful, but a typical kitty that lets you get near her when she wants you to. I love her to pieces and have a ton of patience, so I will win her over eventually:-) I might still find another little baby to adopt that is maybe 8-10 weeks old and not so fragile. I guess that hateful old vet knew that this could happen when he told me not to be so attached. Well, guess what -- I will be completely attached to any pet that happens to live in my home:-) Here is a picture of my new baby, Ashley....

If you read all this -- bless you -- and thank you!!

Oh what a wonderful Sunday Morning!
I went to my blog this morning and had such wonderful surprises waiting for me:-) First, I had lots of comments to publish and one of them -- Eva at Eva's Scraps n' Cards -- awarded me the Versatile Blogger Award. When I started my blog, Eva found it and became my first Follower!! I was so happy that someone took the time to "find" me and she became immediately special in my book! Her blog is wonderful and inspiring, and if you want a great bloggy friend and supporter, you need to go visit Eva and follow her! Show her some of your sweetest love:-)

As a recipient of The Versatile Blogger Award, there are 3 rules to follow…
1. Thank the person who awarded you.
2. Tell 7 things about yourself that your readers may not know.
3. Award 7 other bloggers with this award.

Once again, Eva, you have been one of my 'Sweetest' since I started my blog and you came to share your precious bloggy love. Thank you so much for thinking of me:-)

7. My motto is "Let Go, Let God!!" I depend on my faith to help me remember that the past in the past, the future is yet to come, TODAY is what matters!

Picking the people to give this wonderful award to is the hardest for me. I visit so many great blogs and would like to present it to so many of them:-) I might look around to see if anyone has not gotten their first blog award like me and send one their way to help build their follower base -- that would be totally awesome!! Actually, I love each and every one of my followers who did not have to look and find me, but took the time to do it!! You are all so very special in my book of life:-)

I hope I brought a moment of happiness to a few and that you all have a wonderful weekend!

A very quick Boo Kitty update for those who want to know:-) We will get him back home on Tuesday and he did not lose the leg. He is going to have an improvised hip/leg brace for over a month and we hope it will make everything heal properly. Daddy Tyson is here visiting today and he spent the first 30 minutes searching for Boo -- smelling every where -- so cute:-)

Paper Playtime challenge #57

2nd Post for today!
I was going to save this for tomorrow, but I need to get the project posted today! I am at the dead line! This challenge is with Paper Playtime and the requirements are:

For our FIRST CRICUT CREATIONS CHALLENGE...
CH#57 - make a Cricut Creation using
BLACK, ORANGE, & PURPLE.
Challenge ends Saturday, Oct. 15th @ NOON Alaska Time

I am going to be going to a Bridal shower in a couple of weeks so I decided to make an easel card for her in these colors, using the oldie-goldie "Walk in My Garden" Cricut cartridge. I had this, also old, Creative Memories paper that is orange with the purple print that was perfect! I used purple card stock for the base. Black, orange and purple card stock for the butterfly. Black ribbon flowers by Offray -- I painted the centers orange and glittered them. A black velvet ribbon with a sheer orange ribbon on top. Black doodles and purple and orange jewels on the wings. I pop-dotted it on top. On the inside, I used a butterfly charm and 2 purple jewels as the stopper. The words "for you and love" were in the WIMG cart and I had to stamp the word "with". Fairly quick and easy card to make, and I got to use an old cart!! I thought it would be fun to make something 'not Halloween':-)

Thanks for visiting and tell me if you think she is going to appreciate my hand made card??

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #34

Hi Bloggy pals,
Another day, another challenge entry! Today I am entering a two page layout in the Celebrate the Occasion challenge #34. It is: "Any Occasion (must use red, black and white) "Entries due by Sunday, October 16th, 11:59 PM (EST)

I am working on a wedding album, so I decided that the colors red, black and white would be great for a double page spread! The bottom pages are from a Colorbok Wedding Paper pack. Then I used red and white cardstock to made the picture and sentiment boxes and the heart. I inked all the edges in black and I added clear rhinestones in the small circles of the flowers -- these you cannot see. I added small white rose buds - one on the sentiment and one on the heart. I am quite happy with the results (and I have 2 more pages done!!)

Thanks again, Judy

Catch the Bug Challenge -- Halloween, anything but a card

I'm back!
Second time today! Since I am home alone, I have had some time to make a few things to enter in challenges. This is the reason I even considered starting the blog:-) Any way, I looked around for anything that I might want to try and this is the first post, being that it is the one ending the soonest - tee hee! It is the Bugaboo Stamps, Catch the Bug Challenge Blog:
The rules are simple:

Create a Halloween ABC (anything but a card) project and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, by 10/15/11 at 6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs - seven (7) (using a Bugaboo image only), four (4), or two (2) using any image!

Limited to 3 projects per person please

I made two projects using Bugaboo stamps -- which happen to be one of my most favorite digi stamps !! The first one is a decorated gift bag using the new "Make it Snappy - boo to you" digi. These new Make it Snappy are soooo easy to work with! Just cut out the square and color - easy peasy! I used a bag I picked up for a song at Target a long time ago:-) Black card stock, Imaginence Halloween paper, glitter and Halloween brads and several ribbons and fibers from my stash. The sentiment is right on the digi, so you are ready to go. I colored this one with water color pencils and, yes, I have so much to learn about coloring still:-)

Next, I decided to try a pillow box which I have not made before. Something else that turned out to be easy peasy! I used black card stock to make the box, added 3 stripes of a green self-sticking paper tape that I believe I got with a "candy" package and I totally loved it! On this one I used the Bugaboo Stamps digi called "Pumpkin Witch" (it is only $1.00). I tried using pens on this one and it is just okay. Then I added red, black and green Stickles to liven it up. It will be a fine treat holder for one of the g-kids:-)

It was fun making projects that I plan to use:-) I will be posting for a couple more over the next few days, so if you will let me know what you think, I would love it!

Kitty Hugs, Judy
Please look at the next post to see the latest on sweet Boo Kitty:-)

Boo Kitty update...

Hello All,
We have a bit of "good news - bad news" about our sweet little Boo. He is getting much better, but is still at the vet trying to get the infection to completely clear up. Another x-ray now shows a separation and dislocation in the top of his femur. The vet -- who I have already shown to be a little too blunt -- said he may have to amputate the leg:-( I am totally okay with it, but I worry about him being too small to have another very invasive procedure so soon. But the leg is virtually useless as it is now. The separation was there before and couldn't be seen. The intense swelling pushed it out of place to the point that he does not think there is any way he can align and fix it. At his young age, there is the bone with about an inch of cartilage between each joint so things don't fuse like a bone break. This was probably there when we got him, but because he was still so tiny and not even walking that well at first, we did not notice until he started to move around more. He is already feeling so much better and wants to play when I go see him -- he gives me his special kissy bites and snuggles under my chin. I still thank God that he "found" us and wouldn't take the world for him:-) I guess he is going to end up as a very expensive kitty, but there is nothing else I will consider beyond getting him healthy:-) At this time I just don't know what to anticipate or when it will happen, but I may have to rename him 'Peg-leg Boo'. Keep us in your prayers for the best outcome for the precious little guy.

I have some challenge projects that I plan to post tonight and tomorrow, so check back if you would like :-)

Thanks, Judy

Boo Kitty and some projects....

Hello Monday!!
This weekend was pretty difficult. Boo Kitty's swollen hip and leg started to look worse on Saturday night and Sunday -- I mean way worse -- he wanted to be alone and I got very worried. So first thing this morning, it was back to the vet. As I figured, he had a very bad abscess. Before we were out of the room. the vet was washing for surgery and said that because Boo is so young and small. he might not make it:-( He did!! But he is still not out of the woods and we won't know for sure until tomorrow. I am a virtual 'basket case' and the vet -- a new one for us -- told me that I am way to attached to the cat! WHAT?! Are you kidding me?? I might not be going back to him. Of course I am attached!! I have spent the last three weeks caring for an adorable newborn, and, yes, we bonded. I am not a happy camper! I will let everyone know what happens, but I think he is going to do great, just to spite that mean vet!

With Hubby's help, I was able to get into my craft room to make a couple of Halloween 'boxes' this weekend. The challenge is posted at http://happylifecraftywife.com/?p=885. There you will find a link to http://www.loriwhitlock.com/blog/ to get the box svg patterns for free. The deadline to link up is this Wednesday. I made versions of both of the boxes as shown below. I also had the chance to do a few scrapbook pages and I have a couple to share with you.

First are my Halloween boxes:

I used "imaginisce" double sided paper for the boxes -- coordinating the tops and bottoms. I put glitter papers under the ghost and spider web cutouts. On the spider box, the spider web and spider on the back are an svg by Beary Sweet Designs using scrap black card stock, googly eyes, sequins and red Stickles and a little white chalk ink to hi-lite. The spider on the web cutout is a black pom pom with eight legs made by stiffening black floss with glue and shaping. Red Stickle eyes. The front corner webs and word "Eek" were from a free svg from Svg Cuts. With the ghost box, I used 3 modified, cute ghosts from the Bootiful svg file by Scrapping Bug. The fence was a file from DTS Arts. BOO title is an old file from Mydiecuts. I used all scrap paper in my stash, inked the edges and had some Making Memories ribbon on both. The boxes are super easy to make and then you need your 'thinking cap' -- tee hee!

Here are a couple of layouts. The first is using the Mickey and Friends cartridge and Zooballoo Font cartridge. The second, Just Plane Cute, is with a file from Little Scraps of Heaven. Forgive me for a lack of further details -- that is the hardest thing for me:-)

Now, I need to post a couple pictures of my sweet little Boo Kitty taken last week:-) I am going to be confident that I will be posting many more to come....

Thanks so much for visiting!! Judy

One more on Boo Kitty...

Hi All!!
Well, my little fur ball, Boo, is a month old now and has made his first trip to the vet. He is a boy for sure. Unfortunately, last Saturday he did something to his back leg and refused to walk on it and was 'fussy'. That's why the trip to the vet. He did x-rays and nothing is broken, probably a bad sprain. Now he has considerable swelling in his hip area that I think is the result of the vet forcing his leg for the x-ray --- arggghh:-( He is up to a little bit more than 1 pound, finally fills two hands, is completely litter trained, is weaned from the bottle and likes kitty chow (that I still have to 'serve' from my hand), and he has learned his way around most of the house:-) He is running on 3 legs and loves to play when he is awake -- fav spots are behind the bedroom door and under our feet! I have some cute pics that I haven't uploaded yet so I will post them later:-)

My Hubby has decided to have surgery after checking out all the options. His nephew is an oncologist and that is what he advised for his situation. There will be a hospital stay, and some recovery time, but the cancer should be completely gone and that is the result we are looking for:-) His doctor does robotic surgery so it is much less invasive than the old way. If we had to deal with cancer again, I am sooo happy that it is one that can be treated and removed.

After adopting Boo Kitty, I wasn't able to get to my "scrap cave" for a couple of weeks:-( This week, I took him up with me and got some work done on my waiting albums:-) When I get those pics off my camera, I will show ya'll some of the pages. I also bookmarked a few challenges that I want to enter over the weekend. Wish me luck!! And, of course, I want to do some hops -- I have been giving a lot of thought about handmade gifts for Christmas and I always pick up great ideas from the hops!!

Thanks for visiting!! Judy

Boo Kitty and birthday card....

I sure can't seem to find time to get anything done :-( It's not just Boo Kitty being very demanding when he is awake, because he eats, plays and sleeps all day. He is sooooo cute, doing all the cute kitten things!! I taught him how to use the litter box the end of last week and now I am working on weaning him off the bottle, but I don't think he is ready for that. He loves to wrestle on his back, backs up and jumps at things he is "attacking", walks sideways, climbs his scratching post (actually, he likes to climb, period), gives chin kissy bites. He is expanding his exploring in the house and has already found 'hiding places'. It just surprises me that such a tiny little critter can have all the same attributes as grown ones! We are all totally in love and Tyson is still enamored, too. We got them together last weekend and they still wanted to be together -- I believe this will be a lifetime thing:-) Boo Kitty also got to meet Belle, the hamster. The picture will give some perspective to how small Boo is. He is definitely growing -- at 3 weeks he was 12 oz. and 7 inches long. Now, at 4 weeks I believe he is almost 9 inches and has longer legs. We take him to the post office to weigh him and will probably do that this weekend. I think I am going to start his own blog and I will link it when I do:-)

My Darling Hubby had his birthday on Sunday! I hate to say he is 63 because it ages me -- but he is older!! He had the same job for 40 years and they laid him off in February. Luckily, he had one of those rare things called a pension, but he was not ready to retire. He looked for a job for several months and then we decided that it was best that he retire. Of course, what happens to men who retire? They get "sick". September is National Prostate Cancer Month and hubby was diagnosed with it last Friday :-( It was found very early and the prognosis is excellent, but he still has a lot of tough choices to make and the procedures to go through. I went through 7 years of terminal cancer treatments with my dad, so at least this time I won't be waiting for a bad end :-) Any hoo, that is the other reason I have not had much time for crafting, lots of doctor appointments and just
hand-holding. Cancer is always a scary word :-( If you read this, please remember David in your prayers -- I have already had several mini miracles in my life and I want just one more!!

Here are some new pictures of Boo Kitty and the card I made for David's birthday....

I used a 'Gus' digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps, cut large ovals with my Creative Memories cutting system, hand wrote the "messages" and put 62 at the bottom instead of 63 (Freudian slip), and colored with water color pencils because that is all I have at this time:-)

Update on Boo Kitty....

I know it is ridiculous for a 6oz kitten to demand so much of a human's time, but Boo Kitty has managed to take me away from the computer, my blog, my craft room:-) Tee Hee! I am just such a good mommy that I let him tell me what I can and can't do! Yes, I said "him" -- the best we can tell, we have a boy. But, I do reserve the right to change that in the future if things start to look different:-) He is still mostly eating and sleeping, but every day I see changes; walking better and going farther, sitting, grabbing my fingers to play, cleaning his paws, purring, staring at my face, kneading my favorite throw that he has claimed as his own! It is such a joy to watch all these things taking place. He is doing very well with the bottle and my help going potty. The vet doesn't see him until he is 8 weeks old. Tyson has gone back home now, but is supposed to be back for a visit in a day or two. He was so excited to see his 'kids' that he did not pay Boo much attention after they came home. He was too busy chasing his almost 6 yo 'boy'! Those two are a match made in Heaven! Here is my 'official portrait' of Boo -- ha ha -- it took me forever to get a decent shot and then daddy (hubby) worried that the flash hurt his eyes:-)

He has tiny, cute little ears. This is Tyson laying his head on my lap next to Boo and he gets so relaxed that his eyes would start to shut. You have to understand -- Tyson is a very hyper puppy:-)

The grand daughters are both very excited about Baby Boo and would probably take him home if allowed. That is Kendyl, Ty's girl on the left. She was here when he brought us the special present. And Delaney is on the right. They are both 10 yo -- 9 weeks apart.

A little bit about the name Boo Kitty -- we had another stray cat show up at our house several years ago. You could tell that she was very old because she moved pretty slow. She was small and had long gray hair. I fed her and, after several months, she would come to us with 'reservations'. I actually got her to the point that I could brush her. Well, we began calling her Boo Kitty because my husband really liked her and his grand kids call him Boo. When I held this kitten for the first time last weekend, I almost instinctively called him Boo and it seemed to fit so well. So now we have a Boo Kitty that will be a real part of the family and an 'only inside' kitty:-)

We have been on the lookout for mamma cat or other kittens and have yet to see any. How this little tyke ended up in our back yard, I don't have a clue -- just a wonderful "Act of God"!!
